Sealless magnetic drive pumps are especially useful in high temperature, high viscosity, high pressure and hazardous situations. The petroleum, chemical, gas production, pharmaceutical, and general industry where toxic, fine, corrosove and aggressive liquid must be pumped and moved. The API 685 standard sealless pumps are specifically suited to refining environments that are hot and toxic.

Canned Motor Pump Models are single stage, sealless, centrifugal pumps available in either horizontal or vertical configurations. Unique to this design is the fact that the three-phase electric motor is integral to the pump. The pumped liquid lubricates the single shaft's bearings while efficiently cooling the motor. A thin metallic liner or "can" (standard material is hastelloy) protects the motor's rotor and stator windings from direct contact with the pumped fluid. The canned motor pump's operating principle is significantly enhanced by the fact that no rotating shaft penetrates a pump housing, like with typical "motor coupled" configurations. The result is a design inherently capable of "dual containment", i.e. primary at the stator liner and redundant protection at the outer stator band/terminal lug plate.
